Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Badmoji iPhone app and its iMessage extension (together, "Badmoji") collect and how it's used. Badmoji is published by Alan Dweck ("we", "us").
What we collect
- Photos you choose. When you pick a photo to create a character, Badmoji uploads it to our servers so it can be turned into a cartoon character. We only receive photos you pick; Badmoji can't see the rest of your library.
- Text you type. Sticker ideas you type in the Create tab (for example "walking a dog") are sent with your character image to generate an animation.
- Generated images and animations. The characters and stickers we create for you are stored on our servers.
- A random install ID. Badmoji creates a random identifier on your device so your generations can be grouped together. It is not tied to your name, email, phone number or Apple ID. Badmoji has no accounts.
We do not collect your contacts, location, messages, or advertising identifiers, and we don't use analytics or advertising SDKs. We don't track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
Only to provide the app: generating your character and stickers, letting you see them again, and fixing problems with generation. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
AI service providers
To generate images and animations, your photo, your typed ideas and the generated images are processed by these service providers on our behalf:
- Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service (image generation)
- Kie.ai (image and video generation)
- fal.ai (image editing and background removal)
- Supabase (our database, file storage and server functions)
They process the data only to perform the service. Badmoji asks for your permission before the first photo or idea is sent.
Stickers you send
Stickers you send in iMessage are delivered by Apple's Messages service, not by Badmoji. Stickers and characters you save are also kept on your device in Badmoji's storage.
Retention and deletion
We keep uploaded photos and generated content so you can keep using your stickers. To have your data deleted, use the form on our support page and choose "Delete my data". Let us know roughly when you used the app, since we have no account to look you up by. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device.
Children
Badmoji is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used Badmoji, contact us and we'll delete the data.
Changes
We'll update this page if this policy changes and revise the effective date above.
